Victims Recovering After Late-Night Shooting in Utica

 

Utica, NY – February 10, 2025 – Utica Police and Fire Rescue personnel responded to a shooting on the 1200 block of Seymour Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Monday after a ShotSpotter activation detected multiple gunshots in the area.



Upon arrival, officers found numerous shell casings and located a gunshot victim at the U Taste Deli Convenience Store at the intersection of Eagle Street and Seymour Avenue. The victim, who reportedly sustained a stomach wound, was transported by Kunkel Ambulance to Wynn Hospital for treatment.



A second victim, who was reportedly shot in the leg, fled the scene and was later taken to Wynn Hospital by private vehicle.



According to Utica Police, neither victim's injuries are considered life-threatening. Police have not released further details on potential suspects or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
