Victim Identified in Utica Stabbing Homicide; Suspect Charged

UTICA, NY – The victim of Saturday's fatal stabbing has been identified as 31-year-old Michael Bialek-Gilliam of Utica.
Utica Police have charged 57-year-old Jerry Lee Louis, also of Utica, with Murder in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree in connection with the incident.
According to police, the two men were involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation.
During the fight, Louis allegedly assaulted Bialek-Gilliam with a knife inflicting multiple injuries to his neck and abdomen. Despite the best efforts of Utica Fire Department personnel and Wynn Hospital staff, Bialek-Gilliam succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have expressed their condolences to the victim's family during this difficult time, and the investigation is ongoing.
