ONONDAGA COUNTY, NY — Early Thursday morning, State Police discovered a suspiciously parked vehicle with Vermont plates along Interstate 90 eastbound. The vehicle, found unoccupied at 12:10 a.m. on October 24, raised concerns when Troopers noticed multiple bullet holes and two firearms — a pistol and a revolver — on the front passenger seat.
As officers searched the area, 911 dispatchers alerted them to reports of a pedestrian near the site. Shortly afterward, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a suspicious person walking near the Holiday Inn on Winchell Road in Warners. Deputies identified the man as Christopher J. Flynn, 28, of Bridgewater, Vermont, the registered owner of the abandoned truck.
Flynn informed deputies that he believed he was being followed by someone from Vermont, prompting him to fire multiple rounds from inside his vehicle. Following his statement, Flynn was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital for evaluation.
Upon obtaining a search warrant for Flynn’s vehicle, investigators recovered a loaded Sig Sauer P365 pistol and a Taurus revolver with expended shell casings. Additionally, the vehicle contained psilocybin mushrooms and a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine. Flynn reportedly admitted to having used cocaine and firing shots from within his truck.
Flynn faces multiple charges, including:
Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, class "C" felony
Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, class "E" felony
Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, class "A" misdemeanor
Following his arrest, Flynn was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center, where he awaits arraignment. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
