Utica Police Seek Suspect in Hit-and-Run Accident

UTICA, NY – In the early hours of October 27, 2024, Utica Police and Fire units responded to a serious hit-and-run accident at the intersection of South Street and Genesee Street. The incident, which involved a car and pedestrian, occurred around 2:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found a male victim lying in the roadway with multiple injuries. He was immediately transported to Wynn Hospital and later airlifted to a hospital in the Syracuse area due to the severity of his injuries. The victim remains in critical condition, and updates on his condition will be released as they become available.
Utica Police investigators are actively working to identify the vehicle and suspect involved. They are reviewing surveillance footage and are seeking help from the public. Authorities describe the vehicle as a red or maroon sedan with visible front-end damage.
