UTICA POLICE PURSUE SUSPECT ON BICYCLE

Officers taking a suspect into custody after they were led on bicycle chase, Friday, August 23, 2024

 

UTICA, NY - A suspect is in custody following a pursuit through several Utica streets. The incident began at the corner of James and Miller Streets, where the suspect, fleeing on a bicycle, led police on a chase that ended on Tracy Street.


According to eyewitness accounts, the pursuit concluded when a police vehicle struck the bicycle, causing the suspect to fall to the ground. The individual then attempted to escape on foot, running to the rear of a home in the 600 block of Tracy Street. Officers quickly apprehended the suspect at the location.


Shortly after the arrest, an officer at the scene requested a supervisor and called for the Utica Fire Department to evaluate the suspect's condition.
