Utica Police Investigate Stabbing Incident Following Domestic Dispute


 

UTICA, NY – In the late hours of October 27th, 2024, at approximately 11:00 PM, Utica Police responded to Wynn Hospital for a report of a stabbing incident involving a walk-in victim.



Upon arrival, officers spoke with the male victim, who recounted a troubling domestic altercation with his girlfriend at their residence. During the argument, the suspect allegedly brandished a knife, resulting in a cut across the victim's face. Additionally, the victim sustained several defensive lacerations to his hands and arms.



After gathering details from the victim, officers proceeded to the incident location on the 900 block of Arnold Avenue. There, they discovered evidence consistent with the reported assault, prompting a thorough processing of the crime scene.



Law enforcement later located the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Taneka Davis, at the scene. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Utica Police Department, where she faces charges of:


Assault in the second degree


Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree
