Utica Police Execute Drug Bust Resulting in Narcotics and Firearm Seizure

UTICA, NY – October 10, 2024 — The Utica Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, in collaboration with the Oneida County Narcotics Unit, Rome Police Narcotics Unit, and Utica Police Patrol Division, executed three search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics.
As a result of the operation, 35-year-old Dontai Harrison of Utica was arrested and faces a series of serious charges. Harrison has been charged with the following:
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree – 1 count
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (intent to sell) – 6 counts (cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (weight) – 2 counts
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (weight) – 2 counts
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree – 6 counts
Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree – 4 counts
Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree – 1 count
During the operation, law enforcement seized a large quantity of narcotics, including:
1,245.7 grams of cocaine
21.5 grams of heroin
12.3 grams of methamphetamine
Additionally, multiple firearms were confiscated:
Savage MSR-15 .223 rifle
Ruger SP 1911 .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol
Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 9mm semi-automatic pistol
Glock G43 9mm semi-automatic pistol
Jennings J22 .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol
