Stabbing Incident in Rome Leads to Arrest

ROME, N.Y. — A stabbing incident early Sunday morning resulted in the arrest of a Rome woman. At approximately 12:34 a.m. on October 20, 2024, officers from the Rome Police Department’s Patrol and Detectives Divisions responded to a call on the 300 block of E. Bloomfield Street, where a stabbing had just taken place.
Upon arrival, police found a 56-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his left arm. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities quickly identified Christine M. Amalfitano as the suspect in the assault. She was apprehended shortly after the incident, processed, and transported to the Oneida County Jail. Amalfitano faces charges of Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree. She is currently awaiting arraignment.
