SINGLE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON HIGBY ROAD, DRIVER EVALUATED

UTICA, NY – Emergency crews were dispatched to Higby Road, between Dunham Road and Edgewood Road, around 3:45 p.m. today following reports of a single-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a vehicle on its side. An elderly man, who appeared to be the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident, was already out of the vehicle when rescue crews arrived. The vehicle seemed to have struck a wood chipper before coming to rest on its side.

The driver was evaluated on the scene by members of the Utica Fire Department. There have been no reports of serious injuries.
