SINGLE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT LEADS TO ARREST IN MARCY

MARCY, NY – On the morning of August 30, 2024, at approximately 7:25 a.m., State Police in Marcy responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident on Trenton Road in the town of Marcy. According to the Oneida County Dispatch, the driver of the vehicle reported crashing after being shot at.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2019 Jeep Cherokee was traveling north on Trenton Road when it veered off the west shoulder of the roadway. The driver, identified as 39-year-old Brandon L. Wilson from Utica, NY, reported that his vehicle's windshield was struck by gunfire. However, Wilson refused to provide any additional information to the responding Troopers.
Wilson, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained minor injuries from the crash. Following the incident, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and multiple other Vehicle and Traffic Law (VTL) violations.
State Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident, particularly if they heard gunshots or witnessed reckless driving on Trenton Road between 7:00 and 7:20 a.m., to contact them at (315) 366-6000 and refer to case number NY2400610169.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash and the reported gunfire.
