Shots Fired on Seymour Avenue in Utica


 

UTICA, NY – On Saturday, September 21st, Utica Police responded to a "ShotSpotter" alert of gunfire in front of a residence on the 1600 block of Seymour Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered three spent .40 caliber shell casings near the location. Fortunately, no injuries or property damage were reported.



The "ShotSpotter" technology indicated that the gunfire originated from a slow-moving vehicle. Despite the alert, no 911 calls were made by the public regarding the incident.



The Utica Police Department is actively investigating and urges anyone with information to contact the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) at 315-223-3556.
