School Bus Driver Arrested for Reckless Driving, Injuring Student

 

REMSEN, N.Y. – A Remsen Central School District bus driver has been arrested following an investigation into unsafe driving, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.



On March 5, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office received a report from the district regarding concerns over a bus driver’s reckless operation. The investigation determined that Donna M. Worden, 58, of Cold Brook, N.Y., intentionally drove a school bus in a reckless manner in the Town of Remsen. This behavior resulted in injuries to at least one student and endangered all students on board.



Following the investigation, Worden was arrested on March 20, 2025, and charged with:


• One count of Assault in the 3rd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)


• Thirteen counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A Misdemeanor)


• Fourteen counts of Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)


Worden is scheduled to appear in Remsen Town Court at a later date.
