Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Collision with Pickup Truck in Utica

Utica, NY – December 27, 2024 – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a pickup truck hauling cars on Oriskany Street West near Jason Street on Friday afternoon. The accident occurred at approximately 4:52 p.m., prompting an immediate response from Utica Police and Utica Fire Rescue personnel.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found the pedestrian unresponsive. The individual was quickly transported by ambulance to Wynn Hospital. At this time, their condition remains unknown.
In response to the accident, Utica Police diverted eastbound traffic on Oriskany Street through the Dollar General parking lot and onto Erie Street to avoid the crash site.
The Utica Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team is currently on the scene and conducting a thorough investigation, which is expected to take some time. Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area and seek alternate routes during the investigation.
