One Person Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Utica


 

UTICA, NY – A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Oneida and Pleasant Streets on Monday afternoon left one person injured, according to local authorities.



The crash occurred around 3:40 p.m., prompting a quick response from Utica Police and Rescue personnel. Upon arrival, officers found one of the drivers legs pinned underneath the vehicle's dashboard with the driver complaining of leg and back pain.



Firefighters had to use a specialized tool to pry open the door of the vehicle in order to free the trapped driver. The injured driver was transported by ambulance to Wynn Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.



Several streets near the crash site were closed to allow emergency crews to clear the scene, causing traffic to divert around the area. No further information has been released on the condition of the driver.
