FRANKFORT, NY – The Town of Frankfort Police Department has made an arrest following its investigation into the shots fired incident that occurred on the evening of September 3rd, 2024, at Frankfort-Schuyler Elementary School. The suspect, identified as Benedict Rotundo Jr., has been charged in connection with the incident.

On the evening in question, the School Resource Officer (SRO) at the elementary school was alerted to a firearm discharge outside the school building. The suspect, Rotundo, is an active Police Officer with the Village of Yorkville Police Department and was authorized to carry a concealed weapon on school grounds at the time.
