VERONA, NY – March 10, 2025 – A 72-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred earlier this month in Oneida County.
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, Patricia M. Bright, of Nedrow, NY, was taken into custody on March 10, 2025, and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident without reporting, a class D felony.
The arrest follows an investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit into the March 3 crash on Route 365 in the Town of Verona, which resulted in the death of Timothy D. Sullivan of Oneida, NY.
Authorities say Bright voluntarily surrendered herself and was processed at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office before being arraigned at Oneida County CAP Court. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Verona Town Court at a later date.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to the public for providing numerous tips following the initial news release and acknowledged the assistance of the Oneida Indian Nation Police Department and New York State Police in the investigation.
