Man Hospitalized Following Stabbing Incident at Liberty Garden Apartments


 

ROME, NY — In the early hours of Wednesday, October 29, 2024, Rome Police Department's Patrol Division responded to a call to check the welfare of an individual at Liberty Gardens Apartments. At approximately 1:15 a.m., officers arrived at 200 North Levitt Street, Apt. 107, following reports of a male with injuries allegedly caused by a broken window.



Rome Fire Rescue and AmCare were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance. Initial investigation revealed that a 24-year-old male victim had been involved in a physical altercation with an individual known to him. During the altercation, the victim sustained injuries indicating he had been stabbed. He was transported to a local hospital with two puncture wounds to his right side and a significant laceration on his back. The victim is reported to be in serious but stable condition.
