Fatal UTV Crash in Jefferson County Under Investigation

Philadelphia, NY – A 23-year-old man was killed in a utility task vehicle (UTV) crash on County Route 30 in the town of Philadelphia, Jefferson County, on March 19, 2025.
According to New York State Police, troopers responded to the scene at approximately 5:40 p.m. following reports of a crash. A preliminary investigation determined that Ryan P. Gleisner, of Philadelphia, NY, was operating a 2025 Polaris Ranger XP UTV traveling south when he veered off the roadway.
The UTV left the road, traveled through the west embankment, and entered a wooded area, where it struck multiple trees. Gleisner was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities have not released further details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
