FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT IN FRANKFORT

FRANKFORT, NY — On the evening of August 30th, 2024, at approximately 8:34 P.M., the Town of Frankfort Police Department responded to a report of a person down in the roadway on Bleecker Street, between Ferguson Road and Industrial Park Drive.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a male victim had been struck by a vehicle and was unresponsive. Emergency personnel from the Frankfort Center Fire Department and Kunkle Ambulance performed life-saving measures; however, the victim, identified as 42-year-old Michael Jermaine Larges Brown, tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation, with the driver of the vehicle fully cooperating with authorities. At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, and no criminal charges have been filed against the driver.

The Frankfort Police Department is receiving assistance in the ongoing investigation from the Frankfort Center Fire Department, the New York State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit, Herkimer County Coroner Kevin Enea, a drug recognition expert from the Herkimer Police Department, and the Herkimer County District Attorney's Office.
