Chimney Fire Spreads to Attic in Deerfield, Causes Partial Collapse

DEERFIELD, N.Y. – March 9, 2025 – A chimney fire rapidly spread to the attic of a home on Walker Road Sunday afternoon, prompting a significant emergency response.
The fire broke out around 3 p.m. at 2168 Walker Road, drawing multiple fire departments to the scene.
During the response, a partial collapse occurred, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. Walker Road was shut down between Bell Hill Road and Miller Road for approximately three hours.
